Selena Peart, daughter of Neil Peart, the drummer for Rush, died on August 10th in a car accident. Anthem Records Inc. has issued a statement on the family's behalf:
The family of Jackie Taylor and Neil Peart, a member of the band Rush, issued a statement today thanking everyone for their expressions of support on the recent loss of their daughter Selena, in a tragic motor vehicle accident on August 10, 1997.
David Mills, spokesperson for the family, stated, "Jackie, Neil and their extended family are appreciative of the outpouring of sympathy in their time of sorrow. Selena was a special person and her loss is devastating. Calls and expressions of sympathy have been received by Anthem Records in Toronto and the family thanks everyone for their support and kindness."
"Now the healing process must begin," he said, "Jackie and Neil need to seek privacy and a refuge to deal with their grief".
